    Does anyone know where I can find a listing of the "build codes" or whatever they're called? The ones on the sticker in the glovebox. I'm kinda curious to see if my 3.73's are factory-installed, along with a few other things. Thanks!

    Don't have the web site handy (there are a few), but:
    GU4 = 3.08
    GU6 = 3.42
    GT4 = 3.73
    G80 = Gov-Lock

    Hey I just checked mine and I've got 2 "G"s on the sticker.

    GT4
    G80

    So according to that last thread I've got factory 3.73 gears and a Gov-lock. OK so what's a Gov-lock? Factory locker I presume? Would this be in both the front and back? Or is it posi? Or whats the difference? Someone explain?

    Hey also while you're typing, seeing that I have 3.73 gears already in there, would it unreasonable to assume I could put 35's on without a problem? (Assuming proper lift/trimming to get them to fit). Am I over-assuming what my gears are set up to do?

    From what I understand a Gov-Lok is a factory Posi traction.
    3.73 with 35s? sure I have a few buddies running that. I run 33s with 3.73 and I like the gettin to the trail speed. My SM465 granny gear makes up the difference for me on the trail.

    Hey Burt, not sure what you meant by you like the "getting to the trail speed" with 33's. Maybe I don't get the speed difference between 33's and 35's? I thought the difference is size balances out to the difference of how much more power it takes to move the 35's instead of 33's? I.e. it takes a little more power to move the 35 but you're traveling farther per revolution of the wheel right? So wouldn't a 35 effectively go faster on the highway at crusing speeds than a 33? Explain o' wise one!

    hmmmmm
    I think its just the opposite.
    I was refering to MPH to RPM
    I'm pretty sure if you run 33 w/3.73 the at 2800 RPM you should be somewere around 65MPH
    Now if you switch to 35 then to get to 65MPH you RPM would need to go up to somewere around 3000RMP
    I don't have nothin to back this up except what I think of how it works!!?????
    Yes ? NO? Mabie so?
