Seems the inner axle seal is leaking on my dana 44, dripping gear oil out of the driver side of the axle housing. This sounds like a PITA to fix, how would I go about it? TIA

It confirmed my fears, basically total dissassembly /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Sounds like a replace both at the same time kind of deal, the new seals better last a long friggin time /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So which way does the seal go in? I'm doing the same thing and I would like to know which way it happens. Does the seal go in from the inside of the diff?

The seals go in from inside the housing. Thay are right next to the carrier bearing races.
