    Inside info regarding \"camp jeep\"

Well the guy in charge of setting up Camp Jeep (put on once a year by daimler chrysler for jeep owners) ran his deal by the santa barbara county planning commisioner this week... If things go as planned, Buellton california (small town in S.B. county) will be flooded with as many as 10,000 jeep owners!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif All I have to say is "I'm scared" that many wranglers in one place is just asking for a terrorist attack /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif and that is only 30 miles from me!

YOUR SCARED??!!?!?!??!?! i LIVE in that town, well 5 min away. if it does happen, and a promiss it wont. you cant do ANYTHING in this county unless you are an indian and have a casino. anyways, you cant flush your toilet with out at least 15 years of red tape. but if for some reason its does happen, i will be sure to take pics of a bunch of poser rigs and their arrogent drivers running pussy trails. and i will be sure to show them all how its done in a real truck.

Is it so wrong that I like Jeeps? I mean my dad has owned every model of Jeep and its kinda come down on me. I have many friends that drive Jeeps. I can truly say that I have not met a Jeeper that thought they were "better" than me because they own a Jeep. Maybe im the only one....

Nah you are'nt the only one. I'v had many jeeps of all shapes and sizes. I'v never thought they were any better than other 4x4s. Seems like whenever I'm in a jeep. I am always looking up at other trucks thinking "Wow thats a nice truck"
Riding around in a Jeep does have its advantages though. Its kool to be able to check everyones drive train out.

Ya know I've seen some pretty rad jeeps do some pretty rad things. I've watched while a very well buillt K5 had problems completing an obstacle that a Jeep just crawled right over. It humbled me as I watched and I took a different attitude towards the Jeep. Because of the wheel base and overall width of a Jeep, there are just some places that a K5 has a harder time with. I wouldn't trade my K5 for a Jeep but someday I may own a Jeep along with the K5...

Re: Inside info regarding \"camp jeep\"

See, thats true... there is a time and a place where a jeep would be better than a fullsize truck, but the damn jeepers need to get it through their thick skulls that jeeps aren't the king $hit of all 4 wheel drive vehicles. They need to realize that there are trade offs for each vehicle. Like jeepers trade off hot chicks and huge motors for the ability to roll over on command /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

[/ QUOTE ]I'll agree that jeeps can do well with several things, and better then my suburban at others, but by the same token, my wheelbase, and trackwidth makes some stuff that'd flip a jeep like an apple pancake, easier then falling off a log. I can also do it with 8 other people inside, a cooler of <insert favorite tastey beverage here> in the back, and a sack of sandwitches to feed everyone on the trail.

You know, this is one of the biggest reasons I don't visit this site much anymore. I wheel with a bunch of Jeepers, hell I even own a YJ and it does not matter to me what a person drives. Not tring to bash anybody but think about what you wrote from somebody elses point of view and they can easily say who is arrogent.
