I like that. Can the 'ball' be mounted to a flat surface?

it is working a lot better than my k-40, i'm still picking up mostly white noise and faint voices, i have yet to test it on the highway. the ball mount is made for a flat surface, i didn't feel comfortable drilling all those holes in my sheetmetal though. today i went back to the Shack and got a antenna holder so i can bend the whip down when its not in use, and so it doesn't swing out and take out small tree limbs on left turns. i mounted the holder right behind the passenger door

i can't remember how much the whip itself was, but for the ball mount, whip, and 20 foot coax, the total was just over $60
