Every time this subject comes up I make it a point to tell everyone about Trillian. It's an all-n-one chat program, has all the functionality of the other ones, except that you can run AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and ICQ all in one program. It doesn't eat up system resources and it works really nice. It's free too! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif My contact info for all of the chat clients is in my profile.

Is that out in Beta right now? If that's the one I think it is, I don't like it. A friend at work has it, and he showed me how it stores all the conversations you've had with a username. He pulled up conversations he and I had months ago, all in the same window I was talking to him over. It was very disturbing to know my IM conversation was actually really being stored somewhere and pulled up before even on-demand!

Most chat programs have logs, I know ICQ does. It's not like it's stored on a website somewhere, it's just on your computer. I like the fact that tey are logged, I refer back to conversations sometimes to get information that I talked to people about. I think you can turn the logging feature off if YOu don't like it.
