I have pulled my intake manifold, and noticed that the gaskets that I bought to replace are not the same as the ones coming off. The difference is the middle(exhaust?) port. The new gasket does not have and opening for these ports. The old one did. Can I still use these? My engine is a 350 block(383) and the gaskets that I bought are for 283-400's so what gives.

Oh yeah, a fast response is appreciated since I am working in the cold pouring rain, under some cheesey make shift tarp covering. I hate NJ.

Yes you can use that gasket. The hole is just to transfer exhaust/oil fumes between each side of the motor. Or something like that. I'm sure someone will correct me. BTW, when I took my stock cast intake off those ports were totally closed off with crusted carbon deposits. It never hurt its performance but I went and got an aluminum intake to put back in. It was much lighter too!

I went back to the old pepboys and picked up some Felpro's with gaskets that were open for the exhaust. It's cold here and the last thing I need is slow warmups.

Those ports are also used for the EGR source.
