So there's been rumors at work for a couple monthes now about my marina being sold.. Well, today we had a meeting, and it looks like it's going thru.. Probably finalized by march..

The thing that turned out to be somewhat interesting, is the purchaser... We just got bought up by a big company.. http://www.hinckleyyachts.com/

We work on a few here and there... very, very expensive boats.. they have marinas in RI, Maine, Goergia, Fla, etc.. about 600 employees from what I've heard... High tech equipment, etc...

Not sure what I think of this.. I'm optimistic at this point, I guess.. I'm thinking it could be a good thing... Apparently it will stay about 80% the same stuff, our service work and slips, with about 20% Hinckly, service, warrantee work, etc...

At least I'm thinking this may help out our x-mas bonus this week.... I hope.... :haha:

Congrats man! Hopefully it all works our for the good. There is some comfort in knowing your parent company has plenty of capital. Job security is a good thing.:D

Not particularly... The one we have slipped in our marina is about 400 g's for about a 30'er.. It has some nice fit and finish.. Definitely that oldschool Chris Craft look and feel to em, but the boat has no amenities to it.. No a.c, etc, kinda funny..

Thanks for the encouraging words boys...

Just that i go to the states often, and have a US address to ship all my internet dealings to, i can drive it across and mail it out no customs :D

haha, how'd I miss this... :doah:

    hey brother.... :D

Actually, yeah, the CEO of Hinckley had a meeting with us today.. It all looks pretty damn exciting.. Mega dollar company, big equipment upgrades/buildings for us.. Looking to double our workforce...

Adding jetdrive to our repetoire.. Canvas shop too.. Lots of training opportunities.. Actually I go to pooper school in January and my first Merc classes in March... :woot:

Lot of marinas being sold out and developed into condos so the big outfits are doing well.. We're all pretty stoked.. The current owner being a crabass is another reason we're excited about the change..

Should be pretty final in about 4 weeks..

Still gonna be a Merc dealer, so parts/props are always available... :wink1:

And hey, thanks for asking!
