Once I finish fixin the rust Im going to replace my nasty carpet and buy it from Auto Custom Carpet. When I pulled the carpet I saw a tag that had the name of an auto interior place with DRK RED C/K Blazer on it. So obviously this isnt the original carpet. What were the colors availabe for 90'? Im guessing I should get Oxblood. Anybody got pictures of that color?

Also what are the differences in the three types of backing offered from ACC? - Poly, Mass, Latex
The Mass is a $75 addition

What about the heavy black "tar mat" stuff that was under the carpet?

I think, but not possitive that "MASS" has the sound backing material attached. It replaces the Tar and felt if it's in bad shape on your truck.

ok, its official, im blind lol. I didnt even see the 2nd part of ur question. When i ordered mine they didnt have an option, but it said w/ mass. The mass is under the foot area and up on the hump, and its like that factory fibrous material. I reused the factory stuff, the facotry tar stuff, used herculiner over the floor, and then the stuff that came on the carpet. So my foot area is well insulated lol.

if you are going to replace your carpet try
    boatcarpet.com 800-390-1393 nice folks and a
lot cheaper than replacement carpet. they will also
send color samples. replaced my carpet last year was
not hard at all. all you need is a box cutter and
spray adhesive. a whole lot cheaper than carpet kits
and its made for outdoor use.

    Beats me about color.

You can put dynamat under the carpet. It insulates real well and helps with sound noise too. I run with no floor treatments except for rubber floor mats and I can tell you that you can't go barefoot or else you have a cooked foot.

I recommend pre-formed carpet because it'll usually have a backing on it that prevents moisture from getting into the insulator. You can use "boat" carpet but it'll look like boat carpet. Plastic carpet looks retarded. You can also get auto interior carpet from places like Jo Anne Fabric or some other national chain. It's designed to be stretched to conform to what you want it to conform to. The problem is that it has no backing so if it gets wet you'll have the same classic problem I had--the floor rotting from the inside out.

the boat carpet i used has a rubber backing and is not
plastic. it is a outdoor carpet used in boats.
