I might be able to pick up an older 90's internation turbo diesel school bus for cheap, like under 2,000.00
I was thinking of converting it to run on WVO or bio, walling off about 15 feet of the front for living quarters and making the rest into a flatbed for hauling the blazer. I hear Bio or WVo can be made for about .90 a gallon, which would make road trips back home to colorado alsmost affordable.
Is this viable or do I need to just sell enough crack to get a super duty and trailer?

Why don't you make the whole thing into living quarters and tow the Blazer?

it has been done a few times befor, i think it is a great way to do it, dirt cheap.

i would check about licencing you would need to drive it, and would your insurance want to cover it?? school bus cut in half reworked as a camper and with a 6000 lbs truck straped to it.

It will definitely hold the weight. I have looked into doing the same thing before, my wife thinks its an absurd idea. she isn't redneck enough I geuss. To fit the blazer on there you may not have as much space left as you think.

the fact that all the panels are usually riveted together makes it easy to shorten.

The guy down the stree from my office has three just like that. They get around 8 miles to the gallon and they aren't top heavy. If you get a 40 footer and take 20 feet for the camping part that leaves you 20 for the trailer part. As far as carrying the Blazer how much do 40 kids weigh, the thing is probally rated for 20,000 at least.

Ok maybe I should restate my 40 kid thing, Its rated at least for 32,000, 20,000 back tires and 12,000 front tires so the weight of 40 kids isn't going to make it top heavy. 40 kids at 100 lbs each on average, high school kids included weight pretty close to what our trucks on a low average weigh. So if the bus was built to haul them it should not be problem
