I know, switch to Firefox or whatever. Not an option, since it's not my computer.

IE isn't showing a lot of pictures, and animations don't do their thing.

I can't find where to download IE on the internet, just every ****ing accessory ever ****ing made. :angry1:

    I need help.

    a) installing ie6 from an internet download will NOT change anything. infact, it wont do anything at all. ie is intertwined with windows so much that most of its componants are always running, and therefor can not be touched by any installer (ever wondered why you sometimes have to reboot after installing something)

to re-install IE6 properly, insert you windows XP cd (yes you will HAVE TO HAVE ONE) and from start/run run this command.

    rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 c:\windows\inf\ie.inf

    b) re-installing IE will probably not help you any. here are a few things to check

In control panel, goto internet options and do the following

    - Clear all cache(tempory internet files), cookies and history
    - goto advanced tab and hit reset web settings (99% sure this will fix it for ya)
    - in the security tab, click custom level and find active scripting in the list, make sure its on either enable or prompt.

report back on what happened, or pm me.

sorry ... i got one of my directions wrong. its actually the restore defaults button under advanced that you want to hit.

hitting that button will simply fix the problem, but you can also check through the list for the display pictures link.

also ... scan ur system for spyware (which can also screw with random internet things)

Forget it. You are repairing a corupted version of IE, and not tryin to update IE.

no offence ... but you have no idea what so ever what you're talking about.

as I already said ... you can't just install IE like a normal program. IE IS IMPERATIVE to windows running properly.

Sorry, I did not see your posts because they where posted while I was typing mine. I thought he was trying to update from an older version to another. By the way, I have my Microsoft MCP certification in both 2000 and XP, COMPtia A+ and N+, Cisco CCNA, and Novell 6.0 CNA.

I know what you are talking about "paper tigers". I do not have a lot of TCP/IP network experiance myself, but I am decent with desktop support. I make my living with slot machines, and I am pretty knowlegable with the network player tracking systems, and the protocols they use.

That would be extremly difficult. You would need to know how to write code in machine level basic, and then you need to have the right ROM key-chips to flash the game EEPROM, but most importanly you would need the door keys to get the machine open in the first place. But If you did manage to get the door open, without a "mechanics card" inserted at the time of the door opening, the player tracking "door open" alarm would go off immidietly, and the casino security would be on your ass in a microsecond. Did I forget to mention this would all be taped on about 7 or 8 different securuity cameras? :D
