I was cruising the interstate batt. site and remembered that they make a spiral cell too. Anyone run this? I remember the posts long ago. I was wondering if anyone got around to buying one. Are they just off-brand Optimas? Or are the Optimas made by interstate? They have the same model numbers on the site.

The optimas are made by interstate. Go with the interstates if you can, better warranty, and easier to find dealers.

Optimas are made by interstate. Our interstate dealer that comes in drops off two of each every time he comes in. No difference what so ever.

exide makes a spiral cell too. We sell them at work, 1000 ca and 800 cca i think is what it says on the side. Was thinking of picking up a pair, instead of getting optimas. I get a discount and a good place to uphold the warranty.

Interstate don't make anything much less batteries, they are a distubtion company.
Optima is now owned by Johnson Batteries Company.

So, does Optima (or Johnson rather) make the Interstate then? If not, which is the better battery? Which has the better backing and warranty? I'm in the market for one.

Optima is near Denver Co. they make them there.
    They are shiped to Interstate.
    They are the same battery.
Interstate, may have used a different label, at one time or another, same goes for warrenty.
My local Interstate wharehouse, tells me they don't have any three year warrenty's in their stock, but
Corp. Interstate in Texas say's they do have a three year warrenty.
Buyer be Wear, get the warrenty in writting.
If you are connected, and can get it cheap, go that way.
FYI, Heat will kill any battery even the Optima

Thanks for the info. Of course, I don't have to worry about heat. I live in Phoenix... [IMG] I already got 12' of 2/0, copper lugs, and marine/military terminals to move it to the back. Hard to put it up front with no inner fenders.

as far as warranty stuff goes.

Optima: 6 year prorated, 2 year free replacement
Interstate: 6 year prorated, 3 year free replacement.

Anyway, that was the deal when I bought mine about a year ago.
