If you EVER have any doubt about whether to install a roll bar check out these rollover pics.

They are old, this happened in '71. The Blazer was my Dad's 1st. No roll bar, no power steering. Front right tire blew at 75 mph in Grand Island, NE. Amazingly, and by the Grace of God we all survived, in fact not even any serious injuries! I was in 2nd grade, and was laying across sleeping bags on the floor in the back. 29 years later I still remember crawling out the tailgate on the fiberglass roof. That's all I remember. Anyway, the orange '72 was what he bought to replace the '71. And, as you can see, he installed the roll bar, and it DOES have power steering!

    Swamp,

WOW! Those pics sure make a compelling arguement for rollcages! And I thought that "MY" fiberglass top needed some repairs!! [IMG]

Those pics look like they were taken about 30 years ago too......like something on a Chevrolet Blazer training film from 30 years ago.....I especially like the outfits on the guys looking at the wreck....nice tie! [IMG]

Seriously though it's good to remind everyone that safety equipment REALLY should be the first upgrade we do to our K5's.....

Wow... It's amazing that there were no serious injuries. I'm glad about that.

After seeing that I don't care how cool it looks without the roll bar. Mine's going back in.
