Is there a trick to installing timing covers perfect?

    Or do you just put the gasket on, install it and hope that it doesn't leak?

    drop the front of the oil pan, will make it a hell of a lot easier.

    I like to lightly coat both sides of the gasket with Permatex #2 sealer. Install the timing cover first and then install the oil pan.
