Is there any difference between a 96 and 99 4l80e?

    Hi,
I just bought a tranny from a salvage yard, I was told it was a 99 which is the same year as the engine I have, when I got it home I checked the buildplate and it turns out it's a 96. The yard is more than an hour away so I don't want to drive out there if the trannys are the same. I know it didn't come out of a diesel, are there any other differences?

    Thanks,

I don't think there are any differences which would affect using it behind a 99 engine/computer. IMO
