    ive been falling asleep at stoplights for 3 weeks now. or anywhere else i stop moving for more than a minuite or so... sometimes i barely make it home from work. and driving to work at 515am is always a challenge. ive fallen asleep on the ****ter at work a few times, i just woke up from an hour nap and feel more drained than i did before. i havent changed my routine much. i still get 6-7hrs a night of sleep which has been the norm for years. but here lately ive been sleepy all the time. i have a feeling it has a lot to do with my diet... wich i admit is largly fast food. but thats not really any different either.

    I work with a guy that has the same problem. I cant remember what his doc told him. But it is something that you might want to get checked out.

    your diet is a likely culprit..fast food carbs break down into sugars, which means beddy bye time.. try eating more grilled chicken type sandwiches, and cut out the fries.. see if that helps..what do you do for exercise?

    If you have trouble with weight you might want to get your thyroid checked.

    I have the problem sometimes too, its been awhile though. I think it was my diet, been eatin healthier and i think its been helpin some.

    I think another problem is I need a new mattress. At my apt. i never get a great nights sleep, on my bed at my parents place when I go home on weekends I feel like I have more energy the next day

    I would go to a dr. if you can. Even if you are asleep for 8 hours you still need to be in a deep enough sleep for REM to happen, if not then your body won't get the rest it needs.

    a new matress helped me quite a bit. Also cut out the soda or energy drinks for sure. Those never used to bother me, now if I have one monster I won't sleep that night.

    on the medical side, I had a buddy who was always tired but nothing changed really in his routine. He went to the doctor a few weeks down the line and found out he had had pretty bad mono and didn't even know it.

    maybe sleep apnea? (sp?) i've got an uncle and a buddy who have it, its wierd, they'll fall out mid-sentence.

    blood sugar i would believe, 2 of my 4 grandparents are diabetic and both my parents are... ive decided to cut out the fast food to maybe twice a week. i turn wrenches at work ten hrs a day and hike or ride my quad on weekends, theres my excersize... yeah i think ill be going to a dr soon. probably next week.

    Yeah man, get healthy! I'd hate to hear something bad happened because you nodded off in a non sleep situation. Like driving.

    You dont have to go to the doc to check yer blood sugar...At least I dont think I'd go to the pharmacy and ask...:o

    If you are falling asleep behind the wheel, you need to get to a doc ASAP. You are not only endangering yourself, but other people as well................;)

    yeah that is what i was going to say.

    you could be sleeping 8 hours at night but if you have apnea, it would disturbe your sleep many up to hundreads of times a night.

    so you sleep but dont rest
