Since i put my new engine in whenever I remove my gas cap to refill I can hear pressure releasing. I never had that before wtih my 305 or previous 350. Same fuel pump and carb, gas tank, everything in the fuel system is stock as it always has been.

Did you alter or remove any of the vacuum lines that are connected to your evaporation cannister?

my entire vaccum system was screwy after the last motor install but my dad and I took some time and redid it to the diagram on the radiator support. At least I think its the same as the way it should be.

It sounds to me like at least one of your gas tank return lines got plugged off during the engine swap. I can't think of anyhting else that would lead to pressure in the tank.....

The cap itself is probably bad and what you hear is air rushing in to fill the vacuum created in the tank. Just a guess though.
