Awe man, well it used to be a K-5/Jimmy. I like comp rigs, they are great. I have to drive mine everyday though, so I am more impressed with Daily Drivers/Wheelers that perform in all aspects.

As much as I liked the ORD Jimmy I was disappointed to see the fuel cell, another mile of tubing and K5 skins...I'm with Glenn. I am more impressed with a daily driver weekend war dog that can do it all versus a comp rig.

There is just something sick about driving it to the trail and back home after conquering some real tough trails. /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

when did he do all this?? was this after BB02

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yep, it was still more-or-less a Jimmy when we were on Upper Helldorado. He did comment a few times that he was starting to have visions of a buggy while watching our 2 buggies easily go through spots he had trouble with. BTW, that trouble was due to body worries and sheer size/weight issues, not a lack of capability... I sure didn’t expect him to do that to the Jimmy though…

    na thats it.

i feel the major benefit to a rig rig/buggy like Stephen and Baddog's is as you can, ya can flop them on there roof and have no major worries. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I guess I don't get what the thrill of having to winch up or over something that you know your truck is not capable of climbing without a winch. I like the show of crawling through the rocks or mud without a winch and only winching when you get stuck. I swear all of them rigs rolled.(That hurts) Just not kewl in my book. Daily drivers are kewl when they can wheel. My pic is Steve Frisbie K5, he still goes to get groceries in it and it is still a half ton !! That is kewl !! I am thinking after talking to him of staying with my 10 and 12, just beefing them up !! But I want his suspension under my Jimmy !! Steve Fox's K5 is right about to the total beef cake stage, maybe full convertible top and stop before the K5 is gone !! Man Stephen I luved the Jimmy, send me a piece for a memento !!

I liked the old version of the rig too... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ...everything is so purpose built now, wonder how long til TTC is made up of all dedicated 4x4's with tube frames and super high tech suspension's n stuff.

I like the weekender 4x4's myself, something you can drive to work in or go to the store in, and haul people too /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif More real world for most of us I guess, since we all can't dump a fortune into our trucks.

I have about 340 pics from Farmington, many of them are of Watson. I will be posting them soon, along with a full write up of the event. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Most of the TTC trucks this year were purpose built tube-framed jobs, but 3rd place still went to the stepside Chevy which was pretty basic. It was nice to see.

That is heartbreaking to me, he should of just built a different vehicle to compete with.

No doubt man. Used to be, TTC was street legal vehicles that got driven almost every day. I'm sorry, but I couldn't picture myself taking my girlfriend on a date in something with expansion metal as a floorboard. Now it's another Warn Crawling Event.

Looks like the bedsides are just skins fastened with Dzus fasteners or something.

No windshield frame and the front clip looks to be narrowed at the rad support area...
