After two marathon days, numerous snags and having to build some custom brackets. By GOD the K-5 is now Howell Fuel Injected! Works like a champ so far, no leaks, all I got left to do is mount the computer and put a grommet in the firewall to protect the wires. Got two filters, one before and one after the fuel pump.

well that explains were you have been the last couple days, LOL. I too someday will have fuel injection of some sort. I wonder if they'll give me a discount for the namesake( my last name is Howell). Did you have to do any return lines or anything special for the fuel delivery besides the pump? I have a couple stock tbi sets that I may have a chance to get( one of the 2 not both) But if I ever get a 383 I need something aftermarket to flow enough. But anyways congrads on the new addition!! now go get it on some off camber situations and see if it works,LOL.

It's not what you drive, but what drives you( Or is it what you work on,lol)

Yes you have to run a return line. I had an old beater 2wd that I took the filler neck out of, drilled a hole and welded in a nipple for the return line. Besides putting in too big a nipple, it works fine. Have driven it for about 10 miles so far.

You know durring the day there is this thing called the "sun" and you don't need drop lights when the "sun" is in the sky LOL. Like I can talk. We were trying to set gears at 9pm last night on the driveway.

They dont mind, I dont lock them up, they let me work when I want!

Nah, when its late at night I dont do stuff thats loud. Just bolt on stuff or wrenching, no air or power tools. Although I did have to go into the shed and close the door to use the cut off wheel to make a bracket for the throttle cables.

Did you get the gears done? You gonna have a winch by Dixie. Keith, Jim and I all three have winches now, you gotta catch up dude!

Looking forward to meeting everybody at the Dixie Run. Keith and I will be camped with the RENEGADES, Grim and Jim will be camped with the GEORGIA BOUNTY RUNNERS.

You know, I'm always playing catch up.
No I didn't get the gears in. The axle I got has a several problems. The worst being that I think it's tweeked. It had a fried axle shaft and bearings. He had repaired a simular problem on that axle last year. He honestly didn't know it had a problem. He felt so bad he's GIVING me a NEW 31 gallon tank complete with sender for my burb.
I'm picking up a shim kit tonight and I will hopefully get the gears set tonight in my 3.08 housing. Then with some luck I can swing by Keiths and pick up the parts he has for me and throw the axle under the truck on Wendsday. I'm getting REAL quick about changing axles. I installed 3 and removed 2 yesterday. I get to pull and install one more. I had to slap a axle under it so I could get it all the way in the garage last night so I could close the door. No pinion no brakes just a carrier to hold the c-clips on it LOL. No I'm not going to do you over. That housing is going to scrap unless you want it for some reason. You will get the 77 housing back because we know it's straight. Going to get it stripped this week and I can get the housing to you. going to be a couple weeks before I can get the shafts out of the burb for you unless you need them NOW.
You know I did price a winch today [IMG] I'm trying to be a good guy here and NOT buy it and spend the money on the house. But with all this per pressure going on with you guys and my wife has even said go get it....I Don't know.....Look over the books some more.

Man, my neighbors hate me too!! They're gonna hate me even more this month when I start prepping for Dixie!! [IMG]

Man, I have a winch, but I'm not sure I'm going to have it on by Dixie...to much other stuff to do!!

Hey, I will need to find yall somehow when I get down there. I talked to keith about it already, but problem is, I will be arriving around 12am to 1am on Friday night (Hey, it's a 12 to 13hour trip [IMG]). Keith suggested I camp there that night (Friday) so we can meet up in the morning. My original plan was to get a hotel that night and meet up with yall in the morning b/c finding a place to camp and setting up a tent at 1am pitch black aint gonna be too fun...plus might wake up someone by accident [IMG].
But since yall sound like yall will be scattered throughout, it may be just a better idea to get a hotel and try and find yall in the morning. What do yah think? Keiths idea will save me some hotel $$ though, so I'm leaning towards that[IMG]

Grim, dont sweat the axle, when you get it you get it, unless you need it gone for room, I am in no hurry for it, its just going to sit here anyway. Unless I break my housing it can stay with you as long as needed, a year or two hell I dont care. If I break the housing I will let you know. LOL.

BOSS, hell there will be TONS of folks up still at 1 a.m. will be fires all over the place. I am not sure if we will be in the same area again, if so when you come in the main camp entrance we will be on the far left out by the creek. Just look for mine and Keiths K5's, they kinda stick out, you dont see to many of them there. There are two campgrounds side by side, you pass the trailer lot, then the second camp area, then you will be right at the main camp area, where the vendors and the stage is setup. Have you registered for Dixie? The motels are probably all booked, but even if not its about 20 min from Town to the campground and then another 20 from the campground to the trails.

Get there as early as you can, but I know about road trips. If you need better directions drop me or Grim and email. I am going to a club meeting now and will ask if we are gonna try to stay in the same place and then get back wity you on a post on this thread.

O.k. cool, at the meeting last night, we were not sure if we are going to be able to get to the same spot due to there being more venders this year than ever before. I will keep you posted on leaving and such and let me know if you need any better directions.
