after all my hard work, i finally got the truck running today, its loud as hell too, open headers, 11:1 cr, big cam, etc. right now i need to swap oil pan gaskets because i put the wrong front and rear seals on so im going to go ahead and put a one piece seal on. other than that i cant wait to get the front clip on and this thing on the trails!!!

I am curious why did you choose 305 heads on a 400? With the small valves and crappy flow characteristics I would think they would choke off a healthy 400 pretty bad

i cant remember the valve size, but the holes were bored out for bigger valves so essentially theres more flow, theres been alot of debate or so i've seen w/ the 305 heads on a 400, some people who did it got amazing gains, however some disagree, i decided to take a small risk and see wat happens, worse comes to worse i can always replace the heads.
