    It\'s finally mine!! now a q [PICS]

My parents just bought a 2002 Suzuki SL-7 4x4. So I got the 80' Jimmy.

    crate 350- 6 yrs ago
    rebuilt TH350- 6 months ago

It hesitates a little (not always) when I accelerate from a stop, it also wants to die going up my driveway when i barely give it gas. The carb is atleast 9 yrs old so I figure it's time to replace it. What's the best carb for a decent pice (I work at McD's) I was thinking an edelbrok.

(edit) Another q, currently it has dual glasspacks, would it sound a lot better with flowmaster 40's or something else and have more power? It's not true duals, comes off a Y pipe
    Thanks

    Good looking K5
I run a Edelbrock carb It's not bad but on some off-road parts it mite load up on you. But for the money it would be a good carb for you.
About the Ex. I'd run anything but glasspacks I can't stand the sound they put out.

In my honest opinion, it will sound better with flowmasters. You may want to save up the money and go to true dual exhaust with the flows, and it'll sound mean. Just as Highlander said, I think that glasspacks are the most annyoing exhaust you can put on a truck.

Congrats. Good setup on that truck driveline wise.
STAY WITH A QUADRAJET! Edlebrock sells a new Quadrajet. It's more expensive but they work.
You might only need a rebuild. The rebuild kit is only about $14. Personnaly the carb you have is jetted right for the engine. I would try to stay with it even if you have to pay to have it rebuilt.

i'm only the only one on ck5 with this opinion, but i like the glasspacks. Why sound like everyone else and follow the herd? instead get a pack.

Thanks for the coments everyone /forums/images/icons/grin.gif I like the way it sounds, but I want it a bit louder and aggresive, from you guys flowmaster 40's will fit the bill. I don't know if I would beable to do the carb rebuild myself, so I might take it to a reliable shop.

I started on the interior because it's something I can do now, ripped the back carpet out and took out the rear seat, no rust! just one or two spots by bolts. My dad put some sheetmetal down by the rear of the tailgate a few years back because there was some rust but now it's taken care of. I'm going to spary the sides and floor with some rubberized spray I got to protect it and insulate to make my stereo sound better.

Hey man, if you can afford it, go with the single chamber racing muffler Flowmaster sells. I had one on my Jimmy before I converted it to true dual straight pipes, and it sounded awesome.
