It's official. We're doing the Spring Badlands Run May 21st through 23rd in honor of Neil getting hitched. Whoo hoo... We're not doing corporate sponsorship drawings, but we may be able to work something else out. I've got the itch to fab some stuff up of some sort so maybe something can be done. I've talked to Neil about getting stickers, and maybe shirts, but I'd like to hear everyone's take on that. Stickers will be around $5 each and shirts I'm guessing at $12? So maybe a $20 entrance from a midwest K5 thing standpoint. Other info is below:

    Badlands ORV park webpage:

    http://www.badlandsoffroad.com/

    Admission is as follows:

    $15.00 Daily Pass
    $20.00 Two Day Pass
    $30.00 Three Day Pass
    $5.00 Passenger Per Day

I'll personally probably go in for the two day pass to run Saturday and Sunday. You have to be out of the park by sunset and I wont be able to get off work Friday. I'll get down there late Friday nite to set up camp.

    Camping:

The ONLY Place to camp is Summers Campground. It has nice bathrooms, hookups for RV's, bingo games, firewood on site, and easy going rules. It's about 8 miles from the park, but 50x better than staying at the Badlands. Their number is 765-762-2832. I'll be calling this week to tell them about our event and see if they can get us all in the southeast corner.

This should be a fun trip. The Badlands offers quite a bit of varied terrain and any participant should have a blast. There is mud, rocks, trails, sand, and places for everything from stock trucks to 42" tired buggies. A little bit of everything. My hope is to get enough people to break into groups of 3 for at least saturday. Keep the stockers having fun on their own run, have a run for the medium duty trucks such as mine with one locker and 35's and then a big boys run. It seems like Sunday is usually the harder of the hardcore doing things like the "legendary" Orange Trail, but other accomodations can be made. Like I said, this is a huge park with lots of things to do.

This should be open to anyone that wants to have a good time. I'll be bringing my wife, and I'm sure Dan will take the wife and the herd of kids...the campgrounds are great for families and such.

I'll post more when I know more. Hope to see all of yall there!

Looks like we'll try for the 21-23? I should be there. Although hopefully I'll be hitting the Badlands at the end of this month or beginning of April also. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I haven't been there on Memorial Day weekend before, but I would expect it to be pretty crowded. If we want to try for that weekend, we should probably try and get camping reserved (Summers campground is a nice place and you can have beer, unlike the campground at the Badlands).

Re: Spring Badlands Run May 21-23

I will definately be camping as summers...a big reason I wanted to hit the badlands again and take my wife...I thought she'd really enjoy the camping there.

I dont guess I know how to add a poll. If someone else does and wants to tag one on, feel free.

My drill is the 15th and 16th so any time is cool with me.

Of course later in the month so I have more time to wrench would be better.
