    it\'s that puff of smoke

When I start up my truck after a few hours i get this puff of smoke from the tail pipe. Is this something that I should be worried about. When i drive the truck there is no smoke what's the deal. I could shut the truck off and restart it and get nothing

My 84' K5 does the same, I think it's work valve seals leaking oil, and it burns off quickly when you start it.

It's probably valve guides. How many miles are on your truck? How much oil does it burn?

Also rember that if its cold outside it could just be water condensing, during every combustion a little bit of water is produced.

its very normal for chevy 350's and 305's to have that puff of smoke the valve seals wear out after awhile once the engine warms up the seals expand stopping the oil to the cylinder. dont worry about doesnt do any harm to your engine
