    I\'VE GONE NUCKING FUTS!!!

    Ok...I think I have lost it here. My K5..loose steering..hard running..swerves at random...brakes funny....
I went and played in some snow...I am stock BTW...I get out of the snow and start driving home waiting to hear something fail :) instead my steering has tightened up, doesn't swerve, steering wheel has straightened, doesn't brake funny and it runs like a bat out of heel. WHAT HAPPENED?!!? Did I leave my mind at the trail!?!?!?!

It just needed some of that 'wheelin mojo vibe to make it feel better.

I think all that banging around in the snow knocked a loose part back into place. You know the drill, u-bolts, perches, steering, etc.

Could it be all that water(snow) washed the grease out of your balljoints and steering rod's making it tight because of lack of lubeerication(sp)? Maybe you should get the old grease-press and grease the joints back upp, just incase. Or you will have bigger problems later on.
Also "hot-roding" the engine maybe cleaned out some old gunk, making it breath bether.. [IMG]

Yea...thats an idea...now I have to find out which one it was!!!!

    Espen88k5:
Don't think so...but I will check...and how many places are there really to grease up? Hot-Roding...hrm...I think the Stanadyne Fuel Treatment might have done it too.

Also wondering about since I have manual hubs now? If one wasn't fully disengaged what would be happening?
    Thanks

Yeah a manual hub still locked in can and will cause many problems that you had. So will a dragging caliper.
As for grease....well it is recomended that if you submerge the hub that it be inspected for water contamination. Always grease you tie rods, ball joint, Slip shaft drive shafts and u,joints after water play. This will purge any water and crud out and make them last longer.

OK, I think that you stole that line from Blazer454.
that said I would check the bolts that hold all of your front suspension, then do what I ended up doing to correct this problem- replace the front bearings inner and outer.
