    I\'ve got a bad feeling

I rebuilt my engine before I got on this web site a few years ago and have come across a few posts saying it was a no-no to reuse head bolts in my 6.2L

Oops, I hope the gaskets hold long enough for me to get my other 6.2 engine rebuilt. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif

    I wouldn't worry about it.

What year is your diesel engine?

I have an '82 model in my '81 C20. I didn't know any better and reused the head bolts on that rebuild. However, I've been told that the 82 model bolts were standard bolts, and the later ones are TTY bolts, and the later ones shouldn't be reused. Whatever the case, I've been running over six years and over 50,000 miles on the original head bolts. I tow trailers with this truck, and I've had it over 1400 degrees on the EGT guage towing a fifth-wheel over the mountains of Virginia......I'm not too worried. If it was gonna blow, it would have done it by now.
