ive got dresser drawers and boxes full of 60s and up gm truck service, repair, owners, and etc manuals, billions of spid labels from past and junked trucks, warranty booklets, protecto plates, some titles, some vin plates, sleeves, all that crap, anything yo can think of that came with the trucks when they were new, too much room it is all taking up, do i really need to be keeping any of this crap, especially 70s and 80s ?

tell me i need to toss it all :D cuz i really need the room and organization, BADLY

if anyone has any GOOD/REAL reasons for anyoen to keepo such items then lemme hear now

i plan on going through everything tonight and planm on tossing at least 75% of it all

    finally

been needing to do this for years

    thanks

Don't toss the service manuals as they are worth their weight in gold imho, as for the repair manuals, if their chitlins, clymer, or the like I'd toss em but if their "motors" once again the're golden... Don't believe me look at what they go for on ebay.

EDIT: I'd gladly buy a service manual for 77 and 78 blazer, 84 and 89 c/k not r/v light truck...

    You said service manuals?

Any of those manuals you could probably put in the for sale section. Shipping bound material USPS is DIRT cheap, so its a good deal for both parties when dealing with printed material sales/purchases.

Service manuals are worth their weight in gold, and are quite pricey from Helms.

I meant like Chiltons. Ones that you read through and the answers to your question just aren't in there.

i dont have any motors ones, whatever those are, never heard of that one

service and overhaul manuals i gave up on trying to ebay them and other items long ago, they rarely go for anything over maybe 8 or 10 bucks, i got sick of trying, ebay is crap these days, nothing like it used to be, at all, im done with them and never will go there again

ive thrown some out, more will follow it looks like

i think i am only going to keep spid labels and a couple vins and titles, rest is gone, im going through everything right now, gotta find more stashes of this junk around this building i dont know where, theres 20 some rooms in this building, so,,,,,, i dont know what else to do to organize this place, taking all the parts to shredder didnt work, still have a building full of crap, i dont know what the hell.....

    thanks

Still not clear. I'm talking about the GM service manuals. Are you talking about Chiltons/Haynes? Those I'd throw away without a doubt, although at least SOME of the Haynes for trucks have decent wiring diagrams, if not too generic for certain years.

I personally would digi-cam those and put em up in the FS forum.

I am all for the service manuals, put em up for sale if you truly don't want them. As for the helms/chiltons type books, they are decent and a godsend if it is an older one (copyright pre-'86) before special tools were needed and when 'snug' was an actual torque measurement.
