It seems that especially lately, there has been a lot of animosity, anger, over almost anything other than chevy or gm. We all know that the mighty k5 is the most kick A$$ 4x4 ever produced, so why all the hostility? If it weren't for all those other rigs, we wouldn't appreciate the blazers as much.
I don't own one of those other rigs and probably never will, but can't we all just get along?

That's true. The baddest truck I've ever been in was a Ford. Each manufacturer has it's drawbacks and it's good points.

I belong to a club and have the only fullsize truck...
I spend my wheeling days with these guys in their Jeeps, rangers, toyotas, and suzuki's. I like all their trucks for how differently they all do the same basic thing. Each one can be a very strong performer in its element and each one has been tweaked and modified by a proud owner. On the trail there is no animosity among us...a little teasing here and there but its all good natured. I prefer the room and level of off-road performance that I get from my K5 and routinely show some of these guys up on obstacles they assume a full size can't do. There seems to be a pre-concieved notion that a full size isn't a capable wheeler...that usually is what irks me.

I just don't like useless mods, rice stickers, or poorly built trucks...the brand is unimportant for the most part.

i agree with trustyk5, brand loyalty is bullshit, i also own a lifted and locked yj, its fun for different trails, my next truck will be an extcab 85' toy on 35's (was threr ever a tougher truck made? don't even argue that) but my full conver't 1990k5 will always be my fave.

I have nothing against Ford, Dodge, Jeep, etc. Its just a little 'fun-bashing' at those vehicles we do! [IMG]

However, I do have something against the rice burners. I will not comment because that would be a waste of my time and I dont need to hear from others about what 'awesome' cars they are. Thats just stupid to 'try' and fix or modify a 'nothing' car. [IMG]

Brian, Does someone else make a 4x4 other than GM? Let me know what I still owe you and I'll get a check off to ya.

It is great that other people love F**RDS and J**ps. If everybody loved the Blazers/Jimmys there wouldn't be enogh of them to go around for us. And the prices would be crazy....Dan

I like almost all cars and trucks, used to be only Chevys, and muscle cars, then started liking Fords, and now Jeeps too. I like import performance cars, but not ricey crap like Civics and stuff. I doubt I will ever grow to like those.......

I joke alot, but my friends Jeep is so sweet... it goes through anything. I am considering buying a Toyota pickup simply to drive around when the Blazer is laid up for upgrades.... I actually like some type of car/truck in most brands.... but there's too much junk out there really... to me it's more about what's in it and the driver that makes me like or dislike anything... I have seen sweet rides with jerk owners and that turns me off... or nice people with crappy rides but I liked their car/track anyhow because it's more about the person then the metal....

I removed my quote so gay, vegetarian, minority, eco-nazis who love Jesus, nuke spotted owls, vote Gore and smoke medical marijuana won't be offend.

I rib my Cherokee-lovin' buddy all the time about the superiority of my K5. Generally 'cause he's a tech for Jeep, and a former Monstered-out F150 owner (his F150 was a smokin' truck, though), not really cause I dislike the brands. I do think Fords are not as good looking as GM's (which are moving down the ugly space-pod road), but I sometimes give the occasional Bronco a thumbs up.. and I do think Jeeps are nifty. Rice is ok I guess, but not something I'd like to be driving.... Ain't nothin' like a K5, though...
Like tRusty said, it's all good on the trail.

Nice to see y'all saying such things... I personally have little brand loyalty, everything has it good point & bad... My serious 4x4 is a Ford, my daily driver is a Dodge, I've owned almost every american make there is at one time or another...
I have respect for almost anything that is built well... as an example, on of the newest trends being rice burners... I have ALOT of respect for someone that takes a front wheel drive 4-cyl car & turns it into a 13-sec or less car... that's worth some respect... however I don't have much of any respect for someone that puts a coffee can exhaust, a wing & some stickers on their econo-box...
I also respect alot of street trucks I've seen, lowriders, even pavement pounder 4x4s I'll admire for being built right... even if they never see dirt

Yeah, liking one brand exclusively is totally anal. Now if I NEVER hear about how "cool" the cars on Fast & Furious are or how fast rice burners are it'll be too soon...

It's not so much the other brands I dislike, it the idiots that tend to drive them that are just plan common senseless and stuck up. dorF's break down half the time cause of lack of service or just stupidity. I would consider driving a ricer because of gas prices but I can't stand to be assocated with people who drive them and think that spending 30 grand to get something to be as fast as a stock camaro is is the kewlest thing in the world.

    You call that dirty!?

<font color=purple> There's some good and bad in all groups ..to me it all comes down to if the vehicle is safe and has been done wel by the owner....... I can enjoy them all in one way or another but I still bleed Chevy !

I personally like GM's... nothing against the others and I have owned numerous F#@ds over the years. Unfortunetly if I'm buying a new vehicle it would have Honda, Toyota, or Nissan on it. The new domestic stuff is pretty much crap these days reliablity wise, but GM does have a few good canidates in the car line. I personally think they should of left the trucks alone, but NNOOOO! In terms of offroading I like J#@ps but man they are everywhere and you rarely see one on anything larger then 33's around here. When I see one on 35's or larger they get the thumbs up [IMG]. I also gotta give the thumbs up to those Toyotas and Nissan pickups... those little guys are tough as nails!

To me, most of the time its not the actual vehicle that sucks its the a$$hole behind the wheel that makes it a POS.Not all but most Jeep people I meet on the trail treat me like Im in there way and dont belong on "their" trail. They look down there noses at me cuz Im not in a Jeep.It kinda sux cuz we are all out there for the same purpose.Im actualy a Ford guy but I got my Blazer cuz the price was right.
