Im drinking Jim Beam right now. Straight up and straight out of the bottle. Actually it's green label Jim Beam's choice (it's aged an extra year over the regular stuff and charcoal filtered for smoothness). Who else like Jim Beam?

Not really. You can buy beer and wine here. There is also an ABC store in town. You just cant buy liquor drinks at the bar unless you drive the 8 miles to blowing rock.

    Haven't you heard??
    .
It's coming back right after they get rid of us smokers :D .
My dad lives in a dry county but he's just 5 miles from the Florida boarder so it's a quick trip unless their closed (at the boarder).
One time it happened that they were closed and my brother and I counted 16 chruches to one liquor store :doah: . We had to drive around 20 miles to find a open packy. I almost though we would run out of booze before we got back!

I like it!..but HATE the price!..

I went "shopping" at the liquor store a few days ago--usually I just ask for my usual stuff ,like a pint of Southern Comfort..but I decided to look and see what else there is for a change..

I saw some Jack Daniels--even the "regular" stuff was about 32 bucks for a 1.75 ml bottle!..the "top shelf" stuff like you show in the picture is close to 50 bucks!..so is the "Bookers" whiskey..I had a few shots of Jack Daniels over the holidays, and it IS a smooth whiskey!..but I wont be able to buy any, unless I hit the lottery!..I haven't had any Jim Beam for ages,I'd like to try that stuff you posted about..bet it lights the old furnace!..

Even Segrams 7 and VO is at least 15 bucks a bottle here,it used to be cheap, only about 10 bucks last time I bought some a ways back!..there is no such thing as "cheap" whiskey anymore,IMO..in price I mean, not quality!..

I ended up just getting some 99 cent nips, and a pint of good old "Southern Comfort"..I drink it ice cold straight, its best that way IMO..:D

I can remember buying "Wild Irish Rose" whiskey for ten bucks in a huge bottle years ago,and after a few shots I couldn't care less it was cheap!..didn't taste as good as Jack Daniels or Jim Beam, but it got the job done!..:wink1: ..but I haven't seen ANY cheap whiskey for a long time--guess I live in a snooty area that doesn't much "low brow" booze!..

yea, but some towns just don't get the nerve up to go with something new. Mt. Olive just started selling beer about 5+ yrs ago and serving by the drink, we normally had to drive 10-20 miles, but you could buy all the liquor you wanted just as long it was in the bottle.

back on subject, that stuff's pretty good for what ails you also. I would take several shots a night when I was sick a couple weeks ago and it had me feeling better in shorter time than just the meds alone. :D

I'm a Crown man myself, but when funds are running low, try Kessler. Cheap and smooth.

The Jim Beam I pictured is about 17-20 bucks a bottle. Not really top shelf...just a little better than regular. If your gonna go top shefl with Jim Beam, you have to get the 8 year Black Label. Makers mark is also good, so is knob creek, and bookers is very nice.
