This sounds like a cross between I robot (the three rules) and the terminator.

Opinions? Will the robots attack when they become self aware? :D

more guns eh? more guns sounds great till you go to jail for murdering a robot. that is pretty ridiculous, an ethical code for robots. thats like an ethical code for trucks. I dont know what I would do if it were illegal to bash my truck.

The robots won't attack . We are still years from the robots being as agile , and cunning as a human .

I doubt any electronic brain would even begin to come close to the human brain . We have emotions in there as well , and that adds compelxity to our daily decisions .

Would a computer be able to think on the fly and make the hardest thinking decisions properly? Life and death decisions ? Making things right customer service decisions , booty fabbing with what materials you have decisions ?

A "common" man , a little on the "cagey" side , could probably outsmart a robot on the battle field :thumb:

And if you talk about movies , a human beat Joshua in War Games , by getting Joshua to beat himself :wink1:

banning robots and/or giving them those "3 rules" is just plain silly. Battle droids are sorta like nukes though... much better if you are the only side that has them. At any rate, if we could send a droid army to the middle east to fight terrorists instead of our guys, that'd be cool. :)
