I just bought an 84 k-5 Blazer w/350 and sm465 np208. The T-case keeps jumping out of 2H. I'm assuming this means the linkage is loose or something. Is this some easy fix or can i find a service manual on transfer cases because i'd really like to know how to do this myself.

When it jumps out of 2H how do you get it back in? Tcase to low gear then back to hi? Does your tranny grind if you try to put it into park? Do you have a lift on the truck? Mine did this a few years back and it turned out the range selector fork inside the t case was burned up. I had to replace it for 60 bucks. I had to remove and tear apart the t case. Not too hard but next time I'll get more info before I tear into it.

I'm thinking your truck is telling you you don't take it offroad enough! 4lo! 4lo!

    Sorry, just couldn't resist!

To make this semi-relevant, I believe even the Haynes manual available at chain auto stores tells you how to adjust the 208's shift linkage.

No anti-theft measures on your truck? No pity when its stolen

My 86 pickup did the same thing. It had a 4 speed and the smaller aluminum transfer case (not sure what the model is, I get these confused all the time!) I ended up replacing one shift fork and all the little plastic tips on the other fork. At the time, it cost me about $50 for the parts and it wasn't hard to fix.
