What is involved in scrapping a TBI setup for a carb?
DUH, I forgot to tell you guys about it. It's an 87 K5 that I'm looking at buying, but the TBI is kinda messed up. I don't know how to work on TBI stuff and would perfer a carb for it, especially since it won't be a true daily driver
If you are planning on using it offroad you will wish you had kept the TBI!
I live in michigan, so "off-road" to me means MUD. MUD and trails in the woods. Would a TBI setup be more beneficial? I was worried about water + mud + electronics = one K5 stuck in the middle of a mudhole.
<font color="blue">What's "messed up" about the TBI? I would keep it, if you put a carb on you will want the TBI back.
I think the TBI just has a few bad sensors. I'm gonna buy the blazer, I think, and just replace the 02 sensors.
<font color="blue">There is only 1 O2 sensor. Is the light on? It might actually be less work to fix whats wrong then take it out and put a crapuretor /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif on it
I think I'll just stick with the TBI that's on there and get it running real good.
