Me and 87SM465NP208 went to the junkyard today. I spend $100 for:

3 sets of rear tailights, complete with housing, bulbs, and chrome trim

1 set of amber cab lights as one of mine was cracked. Complete with rubber pads, wiring, and bulbs.

1 wiper motor complete with tubing for the washer bottle

1 passenger side battery tray in good condition with a radiator overflow bottle installed (I needed the overflow bottle so I took them both

1 brand new, no rust, still with the GM sticker and part number on it, driver's side battery tray from a Diesel truck

1 stainless steel driver's door mirror (just need to find another)

    1 entire tailight wiring harness

Whacha think? I think I did pretty good. That battery tray goes for $50 from LMC. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Went to the junkyard for a tierod, cab light, and tail light. The only tie rod they had was bent, so I'm just going to get one off of something else.

Is the 1 ton tierod the same as the lighter duty stuff? I could snag the one off my 1 ton for the time being.

    1 ton tierod is heavier than 3/4, 1/2 ton tierod's. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But is the taper the same and the length? This would only be for temporary use until the '60 goes under.

Rene, put crossover on your truck already. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I need the block.

The threaded portion is bigger in diameter than the 3/4 and 1/2 ton's. And the taper is larger too. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No chance of you having one of those, is there?

1 ton tierod, is a solid bar, not a tube. Heavy, but stout. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
