Just bought the wife an 86' 1/2 ton 4x4 diesel suburban. I have been doing some learning here the past few days before buying. You people seem very knowledgable and helpful. The only thing that concerns me on this new rig is the coolant was alittle low with no signs of coolant leaks, but at $1500 I couldn't really pass it up. Jus t wanted to say hi and thanks in advance putting up with another newbie.

    Congratulations!

No, at $1500, you couldn't get hurt even if you had to buy a new engine!!!

Seriously, just top off the coolant, and watch it for a few days. As long as it doesn't drop off in a huge hurry, you should be all right. If it drops fast and then stabilizes, then you probably have an exterior leak.
