I just picked up another Dana 60, I had to...the price was right. It was out of a early 80's K30.

    Should I...

Sell it? I can probably make a fair bit off it. Pay some tranny bills, funding for a softtop...or actually DRIVING the K5? maybe buy somthing ?...but I may never come across a deal like this again...

Make 4 wheel steering? I've always wanted to do this, I can drive the hydraulics off a PTO pump on my 203 or 205. Possibly make a big K5 as manuverable as the heeps? Not many I have seen do this, so I'm really curious weather or not this is a mod that is worth the time/money performance gains. The 2nd D60 is also 4:10, so it saves any gearing problem.

I suppose its a matter of weather or not rear steer is worth my time...? Any thoughts on this? Where I live the "Tightness" of a trail is dependant the trees.

I already have a 85 D60 under my rig (posting pics of my whole rig tomorrow)

    Option C?

I say sell it.. although rear steer would be pimp and not many have it, is it really worth all that time and money to be able to have a few feet less of a turning radius? You can always just run over the trees right? /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
Function over form... if you really need the rear steer that much go for it, if its just to be cool, i say ssell it, and save the $$

I was also thinking that if I did it, I would essentially HAVE to go to 35+ spline drive flanges, Huge shafts and u joints, and aftermarket knuckles. That's gotta be worth a bloody mint right there!

I think I'll go for a billet Dual T case adaptor and a full roll cage. Maybe some some odds and ends to actually DRIVE the /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

only 2 options I see... a) make it the foundation for a kick azz off-road only tube buggy. or b) sell it to finance the ongoing buildup of the K5 u already have.

axle shafts would equal serious money. Not only will you need the inital shafts but spares as well since they will be custom.

If I were to ever do a rear steer set-up I would just use Crane C's and Dedenbear knuckles for a 60F on a 14FF. Detroits are cheaper, shafts are bigger, and you are not cutting up a good 60F just for parts! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Or graft some rockwell ends on a 14 bolt.... That way you get some beefy ujoints BEFORE you even have to buy CTM's.
