/forums/images/graemlins/k5.gifI want to see some pics of any body who has swaped factory gauges for after market ones in the stock locations still retaning the factory face.I am thinking of getting rid of the factory ones and putting in some auto meter phantom white face and just want to see how it looks befor cutting my dash face up.I was going to go with a 5 in speedo and tack in the two center ones and 2 5/8 oil, temp, gas and volts in the smaller four holes.Mine is an 85. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Where did you get that bezel? I like how it points the gauges up so they are easily seen.

I monitor oil temp as well as oil pressure. (Top 2 left gages) I have a low oil pressure (red) light right next to oil pressure gage. Also have a high water temp (amber) light next to water temp gage. Lights in center area between tach & speedo are high beam (blue) and parking brake (red) light. I use a 24v bulb in high beam light to reduce glare and it seems to be fine. Fuel gage is in center. The "pod" was hand built from aluminum and PVC tubing of various sizes cut at an angle to focus gages towards driver's line of sight. Really wasn't too difficult to build. MSD controller for advance/retard is mounted at lower left next to headlight switch.

Well, that is an awesome dash and I'd love to do something like that to my truck someday.

A question for you: How did you wire the bulbs to turn on when temperatures or pressures hit a certain level?
