I know the subject of towing with the 6.2L comes up every so often. I've posted many times before at how well my '81 with the 6.2L tows.....here's a pic of the '86 K-10 I just sold. The guy that bought it stopped by last week to show me how much he loved it! It's a triple-axle flatbed loaded with a 5700 lb. Oliver pulling tractor. He said it pulled down the road at 65 mph easily! I believe it too. He pulled out of the drive and was gone in a flash.

    It's an '86 K-10, 6.2L n/a, 465 tranny, NP208, 3.73 gears, 31" tires. Not too shabby for a half-ton!

Talk about loud, though! He has removed the mufflers...totally straight piped....I could hear him running down the road over a mile away. He said it was too loud....he was going to have to put some mufflers back on. He's already gotten two tickets for noise.

You don't take off the mufflers or air cleaner on a N/A diesel, the noise is terrible.
I have a Turbo diesel and it's a different story.

Wow!! What is a Torbo Diesel and where can I get one?!?!?!?

Taking the mufflers off a Diesel I think would be a very loud thing. I ran mine partially open for a bit and had to invest in a hearing aid afterward!!!

I've got a JohnDeere tractor that cost a lot less than that truck that would pull the sled further! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
