My buddy has a 95 Suburban k1500 and he is swapping to 8-lug and going from 3.42 gears to 4.10 gears. He used parts from a 89 3/4 ton k2500 truck. He was able to swap over the lower control arms with the steering knuckles and all the front brake components. The front diff is alot bigger than the 1/2 ton. It bolted up to the top brackets just fine but he had to fab some lower brackets because the 3/4 ton diff hangs lower than the 1/2 diff does. He had to use the upper control arm out of the 1/2 ton, but swap the 3/4 ton ball joints to the 1/2 ton upper control arms so they would bolt up to the knuckle. He tried to use the 3/4 torsion bars but they r way too stiff so he is going back to the 1/2 ton bars. Im thinking no 454. Right now he says the front axles r binding but thats at full droop on the front suspension, and we think its the 3/4 ton Torsion bars causing the problem. As far as the rear the 14 bolt bolted right in. He just started this last week and he is currently not completely done alot of odds and ends, but should be done this weekend. Ill let u know how it turns out.
