I recently purchased a K30 1 ton 4x4 that needs some engine work but I have decided tonight that I should just let it go for what I have in it. I just don't have the time or the space. I have small feeling that I'll be regretting this but it's currently on the for sale board for $2k. [IMG]

That's a good deal Shawn, too bad ya can't hang onto it. On another note, a buddy of mine just scored a 1980 Chevy dually crewcab 4x4 Silverado, 454, TH400-205 with new tires for $850!!! It needs some wiring work, but the engine runs fine!! Man, that was the deal of the century!!

Yeah, that truck for $850 is a great deal Ken! You can't even buy the rear axle and t-case for that.

    Shawn,

Your wife must've been pissed when you put that in the driveway hugh?? LOL [IMG]
Man, I wish you were closer. I would've bought that for my brother. I tried to get him a K5, but he only wants a P/U. I told him if he goes the P/U route, only go with the K30 and we'll build that sucker up. Like I said, I wish you were closer. [IMG] Good luck on selling it. Take care.

Yeah, I wish I had seen yours before I bought mine. At least yours is running and more or less complete from the look of it. I've got about 3k in mine now and I'm still messing around trying to find all the parts to finish the TBI 350 conversion. Still to go, fuel lines/pump/tank, all the cooling hookups (hoses are too small for my diesel radiator [IMG]), wiring (almost completed, I think, we'll see if it runs right, oh for a return to the 60's!), remount front cap, reinstall cab guts. After I get it running, I can only hope that the tranny, axles and tcase are good since I never saw it running. They all appear to have fresh rebuilds on them with new gaskets, joints, etc. (he said they were gone completely through at the dealership, he is a dealership mechanic) so I've got my hopes up... All that I've yet to even start on suspension lift, big tires, body cut down, etc., etc., etc...

Coming soon: 4" lift, 40" tires, massive cutting, shorter wb and rear overhang.

Actually, Carol was cool about it. We're currently looking for a Typhoon for her so it was a mutual feeling (you can buy you this, if you let me get that sort of thing).[IMG]

    Baddog-
Sounds like some major work you got going! I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end!

Just so you dont get worked up yet, I may be interested in the truck. But I would need to sell my 82 K30 first. Mine is already jacked up and ready to go. The problem with mine is when I bought it, someone had cut up all the wires to add cd player, speakers, off road lights, etc. You get the picture. Its not pretty when you look under the dash or in the engine compartment. So, I would rather have a raw, untouched, virgin K30, and yours sounds like a potential candidate. Give me some time to get rid of mine, maybe within the next two weeks or so. If someone else wants it, go ahead and give them a shot. I will send a private in about two weeks to see where we are and whether you still have it or not.

Is your wiring that bad to have to sell it??? I haven't looked close to the wiring on mine but I'll take a closer look for you. It should be ok but you never know. The only thing I noticed that was strange is the truck originally came light silver and they repainted it tan. The doors and jambs look great but the lower dash and inside roof of the cab is silver.

Hahaha! No comment on the wiring!!! Someone else who had the truck decided to make his lights, stereo, etc. work for HIMSELF! The wires on my 82 are beyond repairable. BTW, the wiring is not the only thing thats got problems. The whole body is SHOT, rusty, etc. The cut out flares are broke and to remove them would mean gaping holes from the screws and the extra sheet metal that was cut out to fit the flares. The whole truck is a puke ugly brown, to give you a general idea. ITS NOT PRETTY!!! To make it road worthy to attracting someone elses eye, it would need a TOTAL restoration!!! And I mean from the ground up! All the lower part of the body, rockers, etc. have been covered with those chrome tape things, if you know what I mean, to "hide" the rust! NO, I didnt do this! So, hopefully I can unload the truck and get yours to use as a perfect base truck to build to MY specs!

When I saw the title of this post I thought you meant the blazer. I nearly had a heart attack.

Shaggy- I use to own a 93 Typhoon but I sold it. I still miss it but now with the wife getting one it will all be better now. Here's the one we're thinking about:
