K5, K10?

    Ok I've asked this question before but did not really get a valid respone /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

    Ok they are called K5's but my blazer say's K10 on the pink, reg, ect.

    Why is that? What's the difference?

    There is no difference that i know of..My '84 says the same thing. They're still just half tons

    My insurance says mine is a 2 door station wagon...

    I'll also add that my original response was valid. The Blazers and Jimmy's were K-5's and although the drivetrain was shared with 1/2 ton pick-ups they were never called K-10 Blazers. The K-5 designation had more to do with the body style than anything else.

    Well chevy went and changed their designations again, they're now V10's /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

    Gawd this subject gets so old and boring...

    The V series (as well as the R designation) were intro'd to lessen confusion while the new body style's and the old style was being sold at the same time. A K5 is a K5 is a K5...

    While we're at it...the K5 never ever came with a big block, it was never 3/4 ton, not even the military version was 3/4 ton no matter what they called it. Yes the hard tops all come off... /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

    I guess this is partly GM's fault for having such a non-sensical system. Mostly it's the DMV or whoever does the title stuff on these trucks though.
