We ran the "Kremling Crawl" competition this weekend and had a pretty good show for a K5. The course was all laid out in a wash with boulder piled in it and flagged to put you on some pretty sick lines. There were a few flags we just blatantly had to run over, it was either hit them with the tires, or roll over them!
The first day favored our vehicle a little more with some steep climbs that shorter rigs had problems with and we came in 6th overall which qualified us for the second day, they took the top 20.
The second day, the course was run backwards so shorter vehicles could fall down the hard stuff and squeeze through the tight stuff. We ended up 13th, and would have been 8th or 9th if i hadn't messed up and blown a front axle joint.
I figure it was pretty good overall since we were competing with some ARCA regulars in pretty serious jeep buggies, and beat most of a field of compact vehicles. There were a lot of people amazed at what a K5 could do!

Next time some more of you local K5 guys need to show up! Putting fullsize trucks in the top spots is pretty fun!
I think Butch and Schneggie and Stormtrooper have some pics of the event, maybe we'll get to see some pretty soon.
    gotta run

I'M PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in Kremmling on Sunday(father in law lives there)to go fishin' @ Williams Fork. As soon as we're loaded up and headed for the lake,my brother in law tells me to ignore any signs I see about any 4x stuff. Then proceeds to tell me what was going on up there this weekend,PLUS the fact that the wife already knew about it and didn't tell me 'cause she knew I'd be upset that we couldn't afford to drive the rig up.OOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooohh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    SOMEBODY"S IN SOME DEEEEEEP SHIZNIT!!!!!!!
Glad to hear that you had a good time and showed them what a fullsize can do.

Carnage: I blew a D60 joint, wrinkled the left front fender (saved the rest from a roll though), scuffed the rear corners, and the front corners, and got a good bit of rock rash on the underside, but nothing it wasn't built to handle. I did put a serious bend in the right side nerf bar too.
Other people had more breakage, lots of broken balljoints, plenty of D44 axleshafts, some rear axle shafts, one roll, just on the side, etc.

I think I might go camping this weekend, no long trips for me this weekend.

Just remember, chicks dig body damage. You've still got a lot of catching up to do, though. :D
