Hey.. im probably gonna be going to college down in austin next year... and ive heard the parking situation is horrible down there.. especially for students.. i have the option of parking at my relatives house, which is about 2 mi from the school though..

so.. people who're down there? whats it like for yall?
ive been considering going carless... or buying a motorcycle.. but im still juggling around ideas.. any recommendations?

and i know just leaving the thing here (fort worth) with my parents is an option as well.

  2. it all depends on where you plan to live.....

    on campus? you'll be OK.
close to campus? ride a bike!
get on a bus. they rock.

west and north campus have bus routes all over....

you will be okay however you go, and UT is a fun place to sepend 4 or so years......

i live in houston now, and miss austin a bunch. you can find me on lake travis still, most weekends in the summer....

Yeah, I'd say get a bike. EVERYONE has a bike in Austin. Or use the bus. 2 miles is nothing, so I recommend the bike. Plus there are a lot of neat trails to ride. And its a nice way to meet chicks.[IMG]

if you do get a bike dont be one of those cocky arse-munches that doesnt follow the rules of the road. It drives me nuts that i have to wait through a light 10 times and the pricks with bikes just run the lights.

Yeah, that's true. I have to admit what you said was pretty hilarious though because I feel the same way. Those sob's need to follow the rules of the road too, and if they don't, don't hesitate to hit one.[IMG]
