I've blown the fuel pump fuse acouple of times in the past, but today it blew 4 times in 5 miles or so. Had to keep robbing fuses till nothing else worked, but we got home. Need to pack some extras, but I really need a cure. Any ideas?

Sounds like a fuel pump to me. You might try and see if you can find any shorts, but it's prolly the fuel pump.

When did you last change the fuel filter? A lot of resistance (from clogging) can also cause that problem.............if not, sounds like either the pickup screen is clogged or the pump is going 'hooters' up..........no offense ladies! [IMG]

It hasn't been that long since the filter was replaced, probably less than 5000 miles. But I know the mechanics at the Chevy dealer I worked at until recently said that the quality of gas really went down the crapper last year when the prices started going up. They did more injecter cleanings last year than ever before.

Have you messed with any of the wiring lately? If the fuel pump wire is touching a ground it will pop the fuse.
