Any CK5 guys heading up to kernville this weekend for their whiskey flats festival? I really want to go but just had surgery so I will probably be spending my day with my pal vicodon. If you live in Socal and have never been there its a good time.

I've never been up there for it, but probably will this weekend. I've heard it's a good time.

I'm in RC too, by the way. You out at the airfield?

It's in Kernville on Lake Isabella.

It's a festival with a bunch of events (the biggest one is a rodeo), food, etc. Whiskey Flats was the town that was drowned when they created the reservoir.

    Events list here: http://www.kernvalley.com/news/whiskey.htm

I thot I'd read somewhere that they are draining Lake Isabella. If that it true then Whiskey Flats might be making a re-appearence.

The dam has been having trouble in recent years - it's been seeping and is in need of repair. There's also a fault right near the dam.

I believe they are keeping lake levels low until they figure out how to remedy the situation.
