Finally got my new KMA wincher bumper installed (well, mostly). Pics are in my webshots. I'd make it click-able if I knew how! ;)

Good looking truck! Congrats on the wincher, it looks sweet. I've got a wincher and a multicarrier comin' (sent Wed.), but it looks like they won't arrive 'till after Christmas.

It's all fun and games until somebody gets knocked up, down, or out...

thanks much, like most everyone's rig, mine is a work in progress. CAN'T WAIT until I get the full 1 ton conversion and doubler in there. From there it is seriously all down hill. =)

I am pondering installing my shackle flip + revolvers during x-mas break. If I bundle up it wouldn't be too bad. ;) If I do it, I'll definitely take tons of pics of the whole process so anyone interested in doing it will know the skinny.

Very cool. I am thinking about one of those. What problems did you encounter in installation? Are you satisfied with it? Would you recommend it?

>Very cool. I am thinking about one of those. What problems
>did you encounter in installation?

Other than having crappy drill bits...which means it took forever to drill the mounting holes...installation was no problem at all. Used a couple of saw horses to hold the thing in about the right place...man-handled it into JUST the right position from there...and used some spray paint to mark the first 2 holes. Took the thing off, drilled the holes...mounted it with 2 bolts...marked the next 2 holes etc.

The only thing I dont like about the mounting system, is that it doesnt have any support going to the outsides of the bumper like the factory bump does. If I were to hit a big rock or something on the very end of the bumper, it would really be putting a lot of pressure on the standard frame mounts because of the leverage it would have. I am gonna have a buddy (55willy?!) fab me up some super-simple supports at some point. Prolly just be a piece of 1.5" tube steel, with a plate on each end for bolting it in. With them on there...the bump would be a heck of a lot stonger when getting either pushed or pulled on the ends.

> Are you satisfied with it?

yeppers, so far!

>Would you recommend it?

Yep. If you need a wincher bumper, and dont want to spend lots of $$$$, the KMA is a good choice IMO. Took 1.5 - 2 months to get the thing from KMA, but it seems very well built to me. Only time will tell how tough it is, rest assured if I ever have a problem, I'll post it here.

merry x-mas everyone! =)

Just thought I would add my .02. I own both a front and read bumper from KMA. I use to live in GA and became pretty good friends with Kyle. I have a front Wicher with some additional brush guards, and the rear bumper is awesome. I have all the goodies on the rear system, and I love it. Kyle and KMA build them to last.

Just my .02.

coolio. Post some pics of that rear bump man! ;)

I will prolly have someone local make me a rear bump, when I decide to get one. I want a pretty simple one, so a local fabber would prolly be cheaper than buying one and having it shipped.

BTW, did you add any supports to the front like I mentioned in my previous posts? I think the guy on off-road.com that did the review put a set on there. The mounting is beefy...but a lill extra support to the outside would make me feel better. =)

It looks great the bumber as well as the truck. Good luck with it. The side supports sound like a great Idea. Have fun.

yup www.kenmtn.com, i've got them front and rear to and can't complain about them but the only thing i would change is that i wish the spare tire was tucked in a little more to the body. they seem to have their sh!t together now and have not heard of and big complaints.

I have bashed my KMA onto a rock right on the pass side. I too plan on adding side bar supports. The bashing didn't seam to move the bumper at all but still could use the support.
Your bumper looks different than mine. Binkers and Drings are the same! Lookin Good I think you will like it. I like mine just fine! Congrats and oh I had to wait a full year and 1/2 to get my HS9500i after my KMA got installed!!! Of coarse I had to have dual batts too[IMG]!!
