Hey guys, i fixed my knocking problem. I went and got a new vacuum advance and installed it. It was still knocking so I looked at the routing of the vacuum lines and come to find out, the line that was supposed to go to the advance was hooked up to the temp sensor in the air cleaner. I re-routed it and set the timing to where it;s suppsoed to be and it runs like a champ now!!!!!!

I do have a question though. My defroster hasn;t worked since I've had the truck. I was looking at the firewall and there is a real tiny and hard vacuum line thats coming out of it and it's not hooked up to anything. Is that why?? if so, where do I hook it up at?? Thanks

There should be a round, black ball above the fan (blower) motor on the passenger side of the engine compartment (firewall). The small line hooks up to the base of that ball and a larger line from the ball hooks to manifold vacuum. No ball? Mainline it to manifold vacuum.
