5-0. As soon as this team learns how to play together a bit better they will be unstopable.

Malone: draws fouls in the paint, solid 15 ppg and getting mad rebounds. great passer in the high-post triangle position too. came to camp in fantastic shape for a 30 year old guy.. and hes 40.

Payton: 3rd in the league in assists and a reintroduction of showtime in LA. Seems to be on the same page as malone afa passing/driving/cutting/fastbreak even though they havent played together much. good to relieve pressure on kobe since he can bring the ball up even against a press. also good having another guard that is a good defender.

shaq: with malone helping on the boards and interior D, shaq seems like its easier for him to get boards of his own, help on D, get blocks etc. came to camp in great shape, looks as good as he has in years and nick nack injuries dont seem to be a problem yet. people always talkin about these new guys around the nba... bah, shaq is still the most dominant force in hitops.

kobe: even without his "legs" due to a late start in getting into game shape kobe has looked terrific in his last 2 games. great shooting pct, 30+ ppg, and a good amount of rebounds, assists and steals too. I think the key is that his assists and shooting pct are good... shows he isnt going into ball-hog mode. Does he take shots at the end of the game? sure, thats part of his job.. hes the laker clutch guy.

George: off to a great start, one of the higher fg pct guys in the league right now.. throw in some rebounds (seems to get 3-4 offensive rebounds per game, bonus) and he's a great compliment to the fab 4... especially since with that shooting percentage its kinda hard to double off of him.

fisher: playing great off the bench.. his scoring is actually up since he was a starter. great at drawing O fouls. has the experience to sink big shots on either the break or behind the 3 pt line.

Russel: shooting like crap this season, but if he even gets his 15-17' shots dialed in, he can really help this team off the bench.

the rest of the nba had better watch out, cause the lakers are gonna own all this year, and prolly next year too. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif woo-hoo!!

Ditto. They will choke sooner or later. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

On a different note, the Chiefs are looking damn good this year. If you could put a football team against a basketball team, the Chiefs would literally kill the Lakers. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

afa "choking" goes... their starting 5 has like 50-60 years of nba experience. They may get beat on poor shooting nights, but "choking" prolly wont be a problem.
