They changed the lights in 89. Shaggy is partlly correct about the info he posted. They did change to IFS in 88, but they also made some one ton solid front axles in 88. I know, I have one!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Sorry. I was incomplete. Only the crew cabs and duelly changed in 91. The long bed, standard cabs changed in 88 to the IFS, and they also had solids in 88. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Shaggy is right. The blazers and Subs retained the "old body" style thru '91 and so did the 1 tons.

In '92, GM discontinued the "old body" style trucks and totally eliminated them. Everything in '92 was the newer body style.

Be aware that in '87, GM changed the designation of the trucks to a "V-series" instead of the "K-series." The "V" was only used for these "old body" style trucks from '87 to '91.
The '88 and newer body style trucks retained the "K-series" symbol.

Sounds confusing as to why GM had to mix the letters around. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Mike, yeah, GM did make the newer body style trucks in '88 as a 1 ton also. They classified them as "K30's". A friend of mine had an '88 K30 (new body style) with a 454 in stock form. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

But we are talking about the solid front axles here. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

<font color="green"> And here's a cool SFA 1 ton from '90. Looks like TH400/205 in it too, that'd make a sweet donor vehicle... I actually didn't know that they made the 1 tons in both body styles between 88 and 91, I thought it was only SFA. I learned something else today!

Mike, is that the leftover carcass from Las Vegas (the lawyer on this site?).

I remember he had an '88 that he took axles out of to put under his Blazer. Never did hear what he did with the rest of that truck.

Funny, your picture does not show a D60 front axle. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif Where did it go? /forums/images/icons/blush.gif

A few months ago, Mike (90Blzr) sent me a PM about a '91 V3500 on the autotrader.com site for sale.

It was a crew cab single rear wheel, black and silver, 454, 4L80E, 205, D60, 14FF, 4.10's, 6" lift, 35" radials, and was a bad assed looking Silverado. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif It was selling for something like $12,500 or something like that.

This was one of the most immaculate and best looking V30's I have ever seen!!! /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

He kept the D60 and 14bff for his truck. He needed to get the truck out of where it was, so he called me and told me to come get it. I got it home(on a trailer) put a battery in it and it started up. I am going to shorten the frame and use it for my project Blazer frame. I have a set of axles in Pheonix(D60 @ D70 Duelly) that will go under it. That way I don't have to change the back setting of the Hummer wheels I have. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
