Well, my plans have changed a bit. I have decided that the highway gears I'm going to use for mileage behind the Cummins will necessitate the use of a doubler to keep some compression braking ability off road. That being the case, (excuse the pun), I am going to sell the NP205 that I recently acquired for use behind my NV4500.
The NP205 is a late eighties unit with the circular bolt pattern. This pattern will lend itself to use behind a NV4500 or an '85 up SM465, a 4L80E or any adapter that uses a circular bolt pattern like a NP208 or a NP241. It has the "long stickout" 32 spline input shaft. With it being a late eighties unit it DOES have a slip yoke rear output (if this is an issue, keep your ears open in this For Sale Forum as fixed yokes do come up from time to time--I scored mine recently for only $75.00). The rear output is set up for a speedometer cable and not a VSS/tone ring type setup so no mods will be necessary to put it into an older non-electronic vehicle. I pulled the PTO cover upon purchase and everything inside looked absolutely brand new (I would NOT have purchased it if I thought there to be any issues with it). Included with the 'case is an Advanced Adapters spacer ring and studs to allow the use of the 'case behind the NV4500 without modifying the output housing of the NV4500 for shift rail clearance (it effectively turns the "long stickout" input into a "short stickout" input). The spacer alone goes for over $100.00 from Advanced Adapters. With that and the NP205 I am looking to get $450.00 for the pair. I will entertain resonable offers though. Of course prices are plus the ride.
    Thanks,
    Nick

Yeah, I hear you man. It took quite awhile to find this one as well. You know, with the spacer for this case, you will have plenty of room for a twin-stick /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif!

I believe the 700R4 shares the 27 spline output of the TH350. This case has the 32 spline input of the TH400/4L80E/85+ SM465/NV4500 variety.
Hey I think it's a good reason to upgrade to the 4L80E that you always wanted......... /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Will you sell just the adapter by itself?

I believe it came out of a 87 or 88 V30 truck. No proof, just a gut feeling looking at casting dates on parts.

I'll sell the adapter for $450.00, but it comes with a FREE NP205 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. Seriously though, I would like to sell it as a complete package. If things change, I'll let you know.
    Thanks

Well, it's not really an adapter per se. It is just a spacer ring that matches the circular pattern of the late model NP205.
