I've always loved convertables, that was the first reason I chose to buy a K5. If I had not found the right deal on an older rig I would have cut the roof off a newer one, but I got lucky. Topless rigs are sweet!

Ohh you mean in the truck ohhhhh every chance I get!
    Let me list my vehicles

70 LeMans Sport convertible Push the botton and top goes away /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
75 GMC Jimmy (Dollar). Break my back every spring dragging that hard top off. I hope to have a soft top soon and the top will slowly become covered with veritations and dissapear into the landscape.
    79 Blazer (the Lady's ride)
89 Toyota Supra with the Sport top option aka Targa.
All my vehicles can go topless /forums/images/icons/smile.gif I guess you could say I'm a topless kind of guy.

Yup, topless is the way to go. Mine's a 74 that is well into a ground up resto job. It's a ton o' bucks, but I'll never sell it! Topless is good for everyone!

You know, I am torn, I haven't had my half top on in some time, in fact the last time I drove it, it was snowing out and it was kinda nice to have the half cab. I have a 75 windshield frame sitting in my garage so I may go full convert, I also now have 3x3 rockers so that should stiffen up the body a lot, still haven't decided yet, pros and cons for both. Every year I have less and less sheet metal on that thing.

I can only run thru the house topless...otherwise it's illegal for me /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I'm chopping the top on my '79. Already got the windsheild frame...prolly will do it this summer. Just need to find a hard top till I can afford a soft top.

I got a 74 in the works, plus a spare hardtop so I'll prolly chop the 81 too. I love running without the hardtop...

Living in Southern California lets me run topless practically year round in my 72 K5. Not much rain to worry about here! Haven't re-installed the har top for about 5 years since I got my soft top.

Running topless in my 85' or semi-topless and halfdoors here. But when winter rolls around my power doors go back on and the hard top is repositioned. It is definitely different 4wheeling with doors and a top (its easier to see without that stuff). I need to find a place to make me soft windows for my halfdoors and a softtop.

I am in the process of building a 73 and have the hardtop hanging form my shop roof and do not plan on putting it back on.

it gets pretty cold here in Maryland and most normal people would have there tops on in 20 degree weather but take a look at my website and you'll see how nuts i really am. Mid december, 6:30am, no top, driving to school in my truck the second day i had it on the road. Never got so many looks in my whole life. Half were probably thinkin...."whoa, look at that orange truck with no top, thats cool" and the other half were proabably thinkin "what kinda dumbass drives around in a convertable in December?!?!?!?!"
