    Anybody seen this? Kinda scary IMO. I can see it now, "Sorry about the scratch on your bumper. My car did it!" Shouldn't the ability to control a car while in reverse be a pre-requisite for licensed drivers?

    Yeah I saw that but can never quite catch the disclaimer at the bottom. Pretty soon we'll all just be bundled neatley and placed in the trunk for a wonderfully luxurious ride to our destinations...:doah:

    I didn't even notice a disclaimer. I'll be right next to the screen next time trying to figure it out.

    Wow. If they could just make it drive itself I may have found a car for the wife.

    Look at all the money you'll save by not tiping the Valet.

    "Park your car sir?"
    "No thanks. Go park, Rover."

    :haha::haha:

    If you can't paralell-f*ckin-park your car, you don't deserve to drive. If I can squeeze an 8.5' wide, 21' long truck into a "compact space" with room for both cars on either side to open their door, yuppie boy can park his own damn lexus.

    So if it blows a fuse, do you just have to give up or park it yourself?

    I like driving. I'll park my own damned car.....

    Where does it stop? Automated wheeling to cut down on terrain damage from people who stray off trail?

    The technology to for cars to drive themselves has been available for a few years (reliable and crash proof, I dunno; available, yes).

    It looks like Lexus just finally found a way to start using it.

    Heck, my minivan had a shorted speed sensor wire on a family trip last april and it started locking one wheel cause it thought it was slipping (again; available, maybe not reliable)! Other times it sent more power to that wheel.

    Wasn't GM's 4 wheel steering electronically controlled? Computers already control engine speed and tranny's in new cars. Anti-lock brakes and traction control make stopping workable...

    They just need to refine the control systems, then we'll all have to specify "human drive controls" as an option from the factory... :shocked:

    They can reduce the drivers license age, too, since no one will have to drive. Mom can neatly pack the kids in the car and send them on their way...
