    OK, I'll start:

    1. Glow plug controller (I've had good luck with the AC-Delco in my '89)
    2. Bigger Radiator
    3. Fuel filter and fuel return line
    4. Addititional battery.
    5 You've got hydraboost brakes
    6. Your SM465 is up to the task.

    what else?

    Converter, exhaust, starter,

I would make this change for such only if I had a truck to cannibalize.

if my smallblock flywheel wont work will one from a 6.2 work? can i use my stock tank if i have it flushed and add a return line? i already have a diesel radiator in the truck so thats not a problem. where can i get the glow plug controler? will the block bolt up to my stock motor mounts?

Glow plug controller (later style '89+/-) is an all in one unit. Steer clear of the aftermarket copies (mine wigged-out after a year) AC Delco ONLY.
I can't see a problem with modifying your stock tank, people have swapped in EFI units (and a return line) for years now.

If the stock tank is galvanized then Id change it out. Galvanized metal and diesel dont mix well.

You have never, since I've know you, had enough gas in that tank to worry about flushing it out. A pint of gas is not going to dilute 32 gallons of diesel too bad. LMAO!!!

I would check the fuel tank pickup / sender part numbers (on gas rigs vs diesel) with the Chevy dealership to make sure they are the same. Diesel has a tendency to wax up at low temps and the fuel pickup may be different. I know it is different on Fords between gas and diesel. Diesel has a dual intake in case one clogs or ices over. A gas pickup would probably be fine in normal temperatures. JT
